November

November brought slightly cooler temps, a visit with Ryan’s pediatric infectious disease Doctor, and Thanksgiving. The change in weather was something that I have been waiting for but it sure did not last very long, at least we were in Globe for Veterans Day and Thanksgiving so we had some relief from the heat. The most exciting part of our month was Ryan’s Valley Fever update. Dr. Shihab said that his lungs look amazing for someone who is only 3-months since his plural effusion. The pneumonia has resolved and his liver is not being damaged by the antifungal meds he is on. Ryan will be on medicine until Feb. 22 at which time we will be seeing Dr. Shihab and we hope to be able to stop them. He is also acting too much like a normal little boy. He runs, climbs, and talks back whenever he can. There is nothing we can do to slow this kid down, and we are thankful for that. On days we are completely stressed by all his activity we remember how he looked lying in the hospital bed with cords, and tubs and we are thankful for our faithful God! We truly had a lot to be thankful for during Thanksgiving this year.

Thanksgiving was spent in Globe with Grandma Lynn, Papa Ken, Aunt Kimmie, Uncle Erick, Aunt Olivia, Braden, Kennedy, and Elliot. We had a lot of fun spending time with them because we do not get to see them very often. Adam also helped Papa Ken put up a swing set that Grandma Lynn has been begging to get done for a long while. Ryan loved building with Papa and Dada. We then topped our weekend off with a visit at Papa Bob and Grandma Linda's where Ryan had a blast. Papa Bob has a lot of neat old junk that Ryan could play with. His favorite was shaking the manikins hands and petting the cement dog.
